Human Rights for Muslimah – Zahra

Paris attack has a huge impact to the world, not just from the social and politic but also in economic side. The one who felt this impact the most is absolutely Muslim. They are blamed to this attack because ISIS said they did this under the name of Islam. Sadly, not everybody believes that ISIS is just a terrorist without religion.

Actually, Paris attack is not the only reason for this cynical. People from Europe and US had already hated Muslim with their long history of war and terrorism, and this influence the way European and people from US subjected Muslim around them. One of the impact is European make difficultness that Muslims in Europe hard to living their life there. For example they banned Muslim women to wear hijab. They even jailed a woman who use veil. And in my opinion, this is very unfair. They talked about human rights for LGBT, but they ignore human rights for Muslim to obey their religion.

This is absolutely very serious issue because it scared many Muslims to go to other country like Paris. They scared with people’s reaction, scared that something bad might be happen if they show themselves a Muslim. With Paris attack, the condition is getting critical to the point that governments itself make an official regulation to banned Muslim woman wear hijab. I am desperate to prove that Islam is a peace religion that never told to harm any single of human being. What we have to do for the world to believe, to see, to realize that we never wanted a war with anybody. All we wanted is just a little trust that ISIS is not Muslims; they are just terrorists who have no humanity.

Brutal Convoy – Amalia

I am going to discuss about the latest issue in Yogyakarta. This just happened yesterday and I do not know it is fortunate or not for me to see it directly. But It gives me lessons. So Sunday afternoon I had lunch with my friend near SMA 7 Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. When we both enjoyed our lunch, I heard sound of motorcycles from far away. Then the sound got closer to where I had lunch. Apparently, the sound came from a convoy. I saw people drove their motorcycles as if the road is theirs. Most of them did not even use helmet at that time. They brought bamboo and wore black t-shirt. At first I thought it was a football fans convoy who celebrated their club winning. But I was wrong, because they brought a party flag. Which mean they were supporters of that party of regency candidate. Then at 6 p.m, I saw my friend’s status and said that she was trapped in the middle of riot between two parties. Both side brought gun and bamboo as their weapon. So I assumed the convoy I had seen before was the convoy who was involved on the riot. Not only that, It turned out that another convoy party also made riot with road users in Kaliurang. They broke a car as well as attacked the driver(a man) and passenger(a woman). According to website A, the driver did not know what was going on and why they stopped his car. They even punched him when he opened the window and tried to ask where he should go to not to block their way. But according to website B, the car moved quickly until it got crashed with motorcycle in front of it. The convoy warned him to drive slowly but the driver was angry.
In this case, I do not know who are right. But one thing I am convinced that the convoy break the rules. They did not use helmet and drove the motorcycles as if they were going to have race track. Most of them used modify motorcycles that have such annoying sound. They have no manners in the road. I am sure not only the road users who felt disturbed, but also people who live near the main road. The sound was just screeching and they even still pulled the gas. The convoy just spread harm rather than happiness. People who did not do mistake become a release of their anger. Maybe there was more harm that they were doing during the convoy but it was not shown.
Government should be clear about this issue. Because it is happened in every election in Indonesia. Why do they have to convoy? If it is for campaign then it is wrong. I think there will be no one who will choose the candidates if the campaign is in that way. They should change the idea of campaign. I mean, they do not need convoy. It just waste of time and also energy. It is better if they transfer the budget of convoy to something that is more helpful. Such as give daily needs for free, massive circumcision, or garage sale. I think those are more useful for people rather than doing convoy and make disturbance.
Why it is an interesting issue for me because most of people see this as a part of our behavior. People can see convoy when there is an election whether it’s president election or regency election. Brutal convoy became a part of campaign which is not true. Campaign is to socialize people about the party/candidate vision and mission and to get closer to people, pay attention to their aspiration. But convoy? It is just harm people, let people who did not make mistake became a victim. It is not parallel with the function of campaign. Which mean it should be stopped or if it can not, make less risk. So that it will not endanger.

Environment – Dhita

Preservation of environment is very important. If the environment is clean and healthy, people can get quality of life. As long as people alive, the environmental issues will still occur. One of the examples of environmental issues that occurred recently was bad smog in Kalimantan, Indonesia which occurred in last September. The smog happened because there are people who deliberately set fire to the land with the personal purpose. These people should aware of the impact that will result from this large-scale combustion. This land combustion cause serious air pollution. Many people have trouble in breathing and ill because they breathe unhealthy air. In addition, traffic accidents occur because the visibility was impaired by thick smog. The smog not only in Kalimantan, Indonesia but also have entered the next countries such as Malaysia and Singapore. Actually, the responsibility of human being living on the earth is preserving the environment. So, people should maintaining and taking care of existing forests that remain green instead of destroying the forest by burning for the personal purpose. Then the forest can be a source of oxygen and human can enjoy the air quality.

National Father’s Day – Eko

For Indonesia, National Father’s day may be is not familiar like Mother’s day that always celebrated 22nd December. National Father’s be highlight of the month every 12th November, it is created to honor fathers the way Mother’s day honors mothers. Besides to children opportunity to express love and respect from children to their fathers it also strengthening father-child relationship.

One of the most famous quotes about fathers comes from author Mark Twain, who said.

“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was no ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

Yeah Father’s Day is what does being dad mean to you, in Indonesia may be not very popular but it always to be the moment which reminds us all about dad, which we never realized that so great love of fathers to their children.

Blue Day in Yogyakarta

This November, Yogyakarta people receive sad news. The unpredicted news came from the Deputy Governor of Yogyakarta. The Deputy Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Paduka Pakualam IX passed away on Saturday November 20, 2015 at about 3.10 p.m.

Before he passed away, he just got an intensives medical treatment for about 15 days in Sardjito general hospital since November 16, 2015 because of his illness.

“He (Sri Paduka Pakualam) passed away after receiving the medical treatment here because of hi sillness for about 15 days,” said the public relation of the hospital, Tresno Heru Nugroho.

Moreover, he said, Sri Paduka Pakualam IX condition is not really good. He already old and had a complications due to old age. He had been under the treatment in Sardjito general hospital since November 6, 2015 on Friday.

Based on the news of deputy governor of Yogyakarta passed away, I think it must be sad news for his family and also for the Yogyakarta itself. The governor needs to select and pick the people to substitute Sri Paduka Pakualam’s position as soon as possible. I think this position can’t be empty for long time because it may cause trouble for the internal governor itself. It also might disturb and obstruct the government’s work.

Drugs are very common to use as a cure for people who ill. In other words, drugs are for medicines, but some people use drugs inappropiately. Also, an illegal drugs such as cocaine, amphetamin, heroin, and etc gain the number of drug abuse. In some cases, the reasons they abuse drugs because curiosity, just for fun, and the ways to look for the identity of themself. Being curiosity for things that do not before is sometimes good, but not for the drugs. Once has tried the drug, that will impact on body; will get addicted. Most of the drug abusers include teenagers. They tend to learn something new, they want to feel part of a group; kind of looking for their identity, and only for fun.
